"Always With You 2: Farewell" is a PC action-adventure game and the sequel to "Always With You". It was developed as a demo project that continues the original game's world and story. The game follows Mia, the protagonist, as she journeys into the underworld with her beloved cat, Caramel, who has grown weak. She hopes to find a way to restore Caramel's strength — but what awaits them there is something far beyond her expectations.
The game is a third-person action-adventure that blends emotional storytelling with gameplay elements like combat, puzzles, cat interactions, and memes. The demo took about five months to develop, with a team of 25 members across development and marketing.
Unlike my previous experiences in small teams where I had to handle multiple roles, this project had well-defined positions and smooth communication across departments — allowing me to focus deeply on my area of expertise. It was a very enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
In this project, I worked as a Technical Planner, responsible for:
    ● Design & Planning: combat experience, cinematic direction, sense of impact, move set design, and map editing tools
    ● Programming: combat systems, AI systems and architecture, construction systems, debugging tools, cloth and Chaos physics, and Unreal Engine plugin development
    ● Workflow optimization: building efficient pipelines that help the team mass-produce and iterate quickly
I was given the freedom to directly implement my design ideas in Unreal Engine, which helped bridge planning and development. I also developed several in-house tools to assist my teammates and improve our workflow efficiency.
What I gained most from this experience was exploring Unreal Engine's newer systems — especially pushing the limits of StateTree, refining AI combat behavior, and experimenting with advanced action gameplay logic.It was also my first time officially contributing to level and gameplay experience design, which helped me grow as both a planner and a developer.

《Always With You 2 : Farewell》是款PC的動作冒險遊戲,是《Always With You》的續作,專案為Demo形式。本作延續一代的世界觀與遊戲設定,是在女主角米亞成年後與陪伴她的寵物貓貓家人「焦糖」離別的故事。米亞帶著虛弱的焦糖前往冥界,希望找到回復焦糖氣力的方法,在那迎接她們的命運是?

遊戲為第三人稱動作冒險類型,核心主題圍繞在人與寵物的離別情感,並結合戰鬥、解謎、貓咪互動以及迷因幽默等元素。從開發到完成 Demo 歷時約 5 個月,為單人遊玩作品,整個開發與行銷團隊共有 25 位成員。

值得一提的是,這是我第一個參與人員編制相對完整的專案。過去我大多在小型團隊工作,常需要支援許多不同職務;而這次的團隊分工明確、溝通順暢,讓我能專注在自己的專業領域,也讓開發過程變得非常愉快。

我在團隊中的職務是技術企劃(Technical Gesigner),主要負責:
    ● 企劃與演出設計、體感強化、戰鬥體驗企劃、角色招式設計
    ● 程式部分包含戰鬥系統、AI 系統與架構、建造系統、Debug 系統、布料與 Chaos Physics、以及 Unreal 插件開發
    ● 內部工具與流程優化,設計可讓團隊高效量產的戰鬥開發流程

製作人給予我相當高的自由度,允許我直接在引擎內實作想法,讓企劃內容能更快轉化為可測試的原型。因此我也將過去的經驗與技術應用在開發多項輔助工具,幫助團隊加快整體開發效率。

這段工作經驗中,我最大的收穫是深入研究 Unreal Engine 的新系統,特別是測試 StateTree 的極限與應用,以及打磨動作遊戲中 AI 的戰鬥邏輯。同時,我也在關卡設計與戰鬥體驗規劃中,累積了更多企劃面的實務經驗,這對我的職涯是很重要的成長。
